This is a full-time permanent position and will be based out of the Don Mills office. Job Summary: The position is responsible for the development and upkeep of the websites for the educational divisions (Higher Education & School). Major Responsibilities: •Develop and maintain websites (static and dynamic in various formats) •Manage the company intranet •Coordinate the development and production of various features and promotions •Consult with the editorial and marketing areas on content, design and updates •Apply optimization measures •Oversee external suppliers (e.g., web developers) •Make recommendations on appropriate new technologies •Provide technical advice and solutions to the publishing units Minimum Qualifications: •Diploma or degree in web technologies or digital media with 3-5 years progressive experience as a webmaster, web developer or web content manager •In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML / XSLT •Hands-on programming experience with two of PERL, ColdFusion, PHP, or JSP is required (Programming examples are required) •Web-related database experience with Oracle or mySQL •Proficient in the use of Photoshop •Knowledge of Interwoven, Flash, and Flex are assets •Experience with Search Engine Optimization and data analysis is an asset •Knowledge of best practices for web programming, QA processes and version control •Experience with information and interface design •Knowledge of usability and accessibility issues •Highly organized and energetic self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment •Thorough attention to detail •Ability to take charge of solving a problem, from beginning to end •Adaptable and innovative team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills •Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities Candidates are asked to submit a cover letter, résumé and 3-5 URLs to represent their current work. | |||
