| The Opportunity This position is responsible for the effective writing and maintenance of online documentation, including procedures, product information, sales campaigns and other documentation for corporate initiatives. The Organization Our client is a leading North American financial institution. Primary Responsibilities • Create and implement day-to-day base essential communications to support contact/call centres and branches nationally • Independently lead small to large work packages for team for more complicated projects • Gather and analyze business data and processes • Provide documentation plans and estimates of work effort and duration of projects • Independently plan, develop/coordinate & design concise, comprehensible written material including procedure & product information, standards/guidelines, legal disclosures, sales campaigns, customer letters • Guide/educate/mentor junior team members on standards and procedures. Participate in peer editing. • Work with minimal supervision, handling more complex activities, escalating few issues/concerns, while keeping management informed • Make suggestions to improve navigation, design of online communications, and routine tasks / updates. Research alternate methods and applications for documentation. • Analyze documentation requirements to determine impact and relationships with existing documentation. Revise and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity and completeness. • Actively involve the frontline user in the design of documentation by soliciting feedback and listening for opportunities to improve frontline & customer experience • Ensure issue resolution by determining solution and making recommendations based on alternatives and experience • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients. Communicate effectively with business partners to ensure accurate and effective communication. • Understand the impact and effectiveness of communications suitable to all audience types • Contribute to post-implementation reviews • Participate with management to regularly review processes to ensure changing needs of the business are met • Proactively identify updates to internal processes Key Qualifications • B.A. in Applied Arts or English, Business / Technical Writing certificate is required • Excellent written communication skills with proficiency in grammar, spelling and simple language use • Ability to modify style, tone and complexity of the writing to suit various audiences • Strong knowledge of online technical writing techniques and tools • Good interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain relationships with employees at all levels • Working knowledge of the Internet and Web publishing • Strong oral and written communication skills • Ability to contribute ideas to improve technical documentation • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong research skills • Fluent in HTML, MS Word, MS Project, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio • Knowledge of Adobe Distiller, PhotoShop, Access, JavaScript an asset • Flexible, adaptable, able to work effectively in a constantly changing environment; ability to multitask • High standards of accuracy and detail • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a matrix managed environment • Assets: Working knowledge of search engine query forms; project management skills | |||
